Bon Macaron Launches Retail Saturdays

Bon Macaron became Chicago's first macaron specialty shop when it opened its doors in West Town last summer. Now those doors are poised to open even further when they add select Saturday retail hours, starting this weekend. From 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on January 31, customers can peruse and get their fill of classic or whimsical macarons like pistachio, dark chocolate, candy bar, and PB&J. The gluten-free treats are $2.50 each. Future retail dates are February 14 and February 28, with more dates to be announced via Bon Macaron's website and Facebook page.

Blue Door Farm Stand Turns One With Complimentary Cupcakes

In other sweet news, Blue Door Farm Stand is celebrating its first birthday with complimentary cupcakes this weekend. From Friday, January 30, through National Carrot Cake Day on February 3, the Lincoln Park cafe will be doling out free miniature carrot cake cupcakes with any purchase in honor of its first birthday on February 1. The cupcakes are Ideology Entertainment Corporate Chef's family recipe featuring shredded carrots, coconut, pineapple, walnuts, and cream cheese frosting. 

Arami Late Night Guest Bartender

Get ready to stay up late on Saturday, January 31, for Arami. The restaurant is hosting guest bartender Dan De Los Monteros of Chop Shop and The Bedford for its a late night bar stint from 10:30 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. He'll be holding down the fort at Arami's front room bar slinging Eastern-inspired drinks during the restaurant's Doyobi No Yoru event. He'll be making three specialty cocktails for the occasion: Osaka Mules made with lemongrass-infused vodka, yuzu juice, tarragon syrup, ginger beer, and lemongrass bark; Lady Jasmines featuring jasmine tea-infused tequila, St-Germain, lemon juice, muddled strawberries, simple syrup, and Fee Bros. orange bitters; and Forest Paths with pu-erh tea-infused Yamazaki, smoked sugar, Fee Bros. whiskey barrel aged bitters, soda, and orange swath. Each drink costs $10.
