Tex-Mex Thanksgiving at Red Door

It's Thanksgiving via Texas this year at Red Door, where chef Troy Graves is drawing upon his time in the army stationed in Texas for a uniquely festive spread of holiday fare. The prix fixe menu for $40 includes entrees of mole spiced Slagel Farms turkey breast and confit turkey leg, and chipotle-crusted pork loin. For sides, Graves is cooking up coctel de camarones, turkey leg tamales, smoked brisket and sweet potato hash, chili con carne, creamed ancho chilies and spinach, mashed potatoes and gravy, smoked sausage stuffing, drunken pinto beans, and jalapeno-cheddar cornbread. There will also be assorted desserts. Make a reservation by calling the restaurant. 

Five-year Anniversary Menu at Arami

Arami has a lot to be thankful for this week. Namely, the fact the they're celebrating their five-year anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the West Town restaurant is featuring a week-long spree of anniversary menu specials, from November 19 through November 25, to be offered alongside the regular menu. Menu items include hokkaido ramen with miso broth, pork shoulder, bamboo shoots, poached egg, negi, naruto, sweet corn, and togarashi butter; sauteed Brussels sprouts with duck confit, ponzu brown butter, garlic chips, and pickled fresno peppers; baby sepia with red chili flake, garlic, shisho, and yuzu; spicy tako temaki with oshinko, sweet potato flake, and sweet soy; and special spicy akami temaki with spicy tuna, oshinko, togarashi, sesame oil, and negi.

Tipsy Turkey Dinner at Jake Melnick's Corner Tap

For Thanksgiving with an extra special side of booze, head over to Jake Melnick's Corner Tap for their "Tipsy Turkey Dinner." Served for $17.95 on Thanksgiving day from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., the special platter offers a booze-infused update to the holiday standards. The dinner includes house-smoked turkey breast with Milk Stout gravy, cornbread stuffing, hard cider cranberry sauce, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, bacon roasted Brussels sprouts, and caramelized butternut squash. Drink specials for the day include Vandermill Totally Roasted Cider on tap for $5.50 and Lagunitas IPA for $5.50. The Bears vs. Packers game will also be on display, kicking off at 7:30 p.m.
