Roka Akor Turns Three
Roka Akor is turning three on July 10, and like most three-year olds, it's celebrating with omakases and sake. To show appreciation for loyal guests over the years, the River North restaurant is offering specials all day long, including 30% off omakase menus, 30% off all bottles of sake, and $1 sake glasses at the robata grill bar.
Milagro Tequila Dinner
Tequila takes its rightful place at the head of the table for a Milagro tequila dinner on July 8 at Takito Kitchen. The dinner features three courses of food matched with Milagro-based cocktails, plus a special presentation from Milagro's National Brand Ambassador Jaime Salas. The first course features arctic char ceviche, followed by cheese arepas with crispy chicken for the second course and lamb barbacoa for the finale. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased here.

Homestead Summer Harvest Celebration Dinner
With summer nearing its apex and local ingredients sprouting forth, farm-to-table restaurant Homestead on the Roof is dutifully celebrating with a "summer harvest celebration dinner" on July 8 adjoined by chefs from Perennial Virant and Vie. Featuring the culinary handiwork of Homestead's Chris "Chip" Davies and pastry chef Chris "Tex" Teixeira, and Paul Virant, Ed Sura, Dan Compton, and Elissa Narrow, the event opens with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails at 6:00 p.m., followed by four courses each and beverage pairings. Altogether, the eight-course affair costs $75 per person and tickets can be purchased here.
Tickled Pink Summer Soiree
Now here's a summer soiree you can feel good about. Tickled Pink for Bright Pink, a breast cancer awareness organization, is partnering with Kensington Roof Garden for a stylish and delicious summertime fete on July 8. While enjoying complimentary sushi from Union Sushi and sipping signature Pink Mule cocktails, guests can bask in the panoramic views of the downtown cityscape. There will also be a fashion presentation by Heidy Best of BECLOTHESMINDED. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Tickled Pink for Bright Pink. The event is free to attend and takes place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
