Get Spicy at Zapatista's Restaurant Chile and Tequila Festival
Nothing says "Mexican independence" like a menu full of chiles and tequila. That's how things are going down at Zapatista restaurant, celebrating its second annual chile and tequila festival next week. It's a spicy, intoxicating homage to Mexican Independence Day on September 16, with a special menu available throughout the week.
Duh, chiles and tequila take the stage at Zapatista's week-long celebration. The restaurant created a special menu for the potent festivities, featuring chiles in a multitude of ways, including infused margaritas. Special menu items include cheese-stuffed and pickle jalapeños with honey mustard-sour cream; crispy calamari tacos with jicama-pineapple pico and serrano chiles; chile rellenos stuffed with shrimp, salmon, scallop, and tilapia; grilled shrimp over grilled filet with toasted pasilla chile and tomatillo salsa; and for dessert, butter-roasted apples with caramel sauce and habenero-infused tequila.
So instead of beating another piñata to a pulp, head to one of Zapatista's three locations and celebrate Mexican Independence Day all week long with chiles and tequila.
