It almost seems like sacrilege to eat anything other than turkey for your center-of-the-table main course on Thanksgiving. But some of us love meat so much, we’re willing to stretch the rules, and Chicago’s world-class steakhouses are helping make that possible.

Select Chicago steakhouses are offering Thanksgiving dinner, and many of those steakhouses are serving the holiday bird, though many others are also serving the meat that Chicagoans love most: big juicy steaks. Of course, alongside many of these dinners are the customary sides – sweet potatoes, green beans, and so on – but in the Land of the Free there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have the freedom to eat whatever you want on Thanksgiving.

Here are some of Chicago’s finest places for steak, all serving Thanksgiving dinner (and sometimes steak), which you can either dine upon at the restaurant or take home to enjoy in your own home with socially distant friends and relatives.

Lawry’s the Prime Rib. The sentimental favorite for this Thanksgiving season is Lawry’s the Prime Rib, which is set to close on January 1, 2021, but is offering dine-in and take-out options for turkey day. In honor of this magnificent Chicago restaurant, you may wish to forgo the whole or half turkey and select Lawry’s namesake favorite: the prime rib. As a side, you could not do better than Lawry’s classic Spinning Salad Bowl. This is probably your last chance to spend Thanksgiving at Lawry’s; don’t miss it! To see the Thanksgiving menu for Lawry’s The Prime Rib, click here.
