Easter Dining Guide 2018

As evidenced by the impending surplus of marshmallow Peeps and pastel-colored candy, Easter is but a bunny hop away. Which is exciting, because in a way Easter unofficially beckons the start of spring dining season. Here's a handy guide for Easter dining options on April 1 in Chicago restaurants:

 

Sixteen

Band of Bohemia: Ravenswood’s hottest restaurant, bar and brewery is spotlighting its new brunch menu for Easter Sunday. From 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., chef Ian Davis serves up an array of innovative new dishes, like caviar crepe cakes, chicken and nori biscuits, bohemian creme donuts with chocolate stout glaze and foie-sicles with blackberry, white chocolate, chamomile and spruce. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant or visiting the website. 

Booth One: Beef Wellington tastes better in the presence of the Easter Bunny, which is why you need to pay a visit to this glam Gold Coast newcomer for the holiday. From 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Booth One will feature a variety of brunch-inspired dishes (think ricotta pancakes with candied lemon and salmon en croute with leek sauce) and dinner favorites. The Easter Bunny himself will be in the Library across the lobby from noon until 2:00 p.m. For adults, there will be a Prosecco mimosa bar, and kids can enjoy DIY Easter treat baskets complete with housemade marshmallow bunnies. 

Spiaggia: You can’t do much better than Easter brunch with a Top Chef winner. Fresh off his season 15 win, chef Joe Flamm is offering a four-course brunch menu at Spiaggia for the holiday, inspired by flavors and holiday traditions of Sardinia. The cost for the prix fixe is $65 per person, featuring the likes of asparagus-filled frittatas, Sardinian ravioli with fava beans and ricotta, roasted lamb with fregola, swordfish with fennel and blood orange, and a Sardinian dessert called seadas, which are deep-fried semolina dumplings with pecorino filling, honey and berries. Brunch is available between 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and reservations can be made via Tock. 

GT Fish & Oyster: It makes sense to dine family-style for such a family holiday as Easter, so snag reservations at this nautical gem come April 1. For the occasion, the restaurant is offering a three-course spread of shareable dishes, including fried chicken and waffles, crab Benedict, shrimp and grits, Paris Brest for dessert, and sides like country potatoes and smoked bacon. The cost is $55 for adults, $25 for children 3-12 and free for anyone younger. Brunch is available from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. 

Eden: Easter brunch adopts a wholesome accent at Eden, where local and sustainable ingredients take the plate for dishes by chef/partner Devon Quinn. On Easter, a la carte options include grilled skirt steak and eggs, quinoa cakes, grilled avocado eggs Benedict and biscuits with honey butter. The bakery bar will also be fully stocked with special Eastern sweets, and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance as well, to hand out treats to kids.
