A Meaty Halloween at Morton's

Halloween is a popular holiday for lots of restaurants and bakeries, especially candy shops, bakeries and bars looking to get dolled up for the occasion. But steakhouses, especially old-school classics, rarely get to participate in the same way. But Morton’s, one of Chicago’s most iconic beef brands, is out to change all that this year, and they’re doing so by giving Halloween a foodie spin.

While the festive holiday is frequently not regarded as a “food holiday,” especially compared to the likes of Thanksgiving, Mother’s Day and Easter, Morton’s is going in a different direction by offering a three-course Halloween menu on both October 30 and 31. So now, instead of trick-or-treating and scavenging for fun-sized candy bars, you have an excuse to feast in style.

The menu begins with appetizers, of which options include a Caesar salad, house Morton’s salad or a cup of baked five onion soup. Next, guests choose their entree from a 6-oz. filet mignon, honey-balsamic glazed salmon and chicken blanco. For a side, choices include Chicago-style horseradish, mashed potatoes and sauteed broccoli florets. Finally, double chocolate mousse and key lime pie are on deck as dessert options.

The multi-course meal costs $39 per person and it’s available at the State Street location in the Gold Coast, Wacker Place, Northrbook, Rosemont, Schaumburg and Naperville.
