Terzo Piano Hosts 4th Annual Chefs' Playground

Once again, culinary skills combine with whimsy at the 4th-annual Chefs’ Playground event at Terzo Piano. One of the best and most unique dining events of the year in Chicago, this year’s go-round takes place May 19 in conjunction with Bon Appetit Management Company (BAMCO). As in year’s past, Chef’s Playground is to feature chef/owner Terzo Piano’s Tony Mantuano and an impressive laundry list of local culinary talent (plus mixologists!). As the name of the event implies, each chef will be cooking up childhood nostalgia in the form of playground/school-inspired dishes, all with the intent to raise funds for the Academy for Global Citizenship, a public charter school on Chicago’s southwest side that uses engaging techniques to instill well-rounded student wellness.

Chef’s Playground takes place from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., while a VIP pre-party begins at 6:00 p.m.

This year’s roster of chefs and mixologists includes Rick Bayless of the Frontera Grill empire, Bill Kim of Urbanbelly, Giuseppe Tentori of GT Fish & Oyster and forthcoming GT Prime, Lee Wolen of BOKA, Sarah Grueneberg of Monteverde, Erling Wu-Bower of Nico Osteria, Meg Galus of Swift & Sons, Julia Momose of GreenRiver, and Paul McGee of Lost Lake

During VIP hour, guests will get to mingle with chefs and mixologists during an intimate hour-long pre-party. The cost to attend is $250 per person and includes the opportunity to sample each chefs’ childhood-inspired dish, plus drinks from the on-site mixologists. VIP tickets are $375.
