Weekday Planner: Pretzel Week at Public House, Chez Moi Partners With Read It & Eat, and Draft Viewing Party at Sweetwater

Pretzel Week at Public House

The last week in April is not just any week. It’s Pretzel Week. Public House is giving the doughy delicacy its due diligence with a week-long spree of pretzel and beer specials as part of an incentive called Twist + Stout. Cute. From April 25 through April 30, the River North bar and eatery is featuring specialty housemade pretzels paired with stout beers for $15. Options include the traditional housemade pretzel with cheddar-beer fondue paired with Buffalo Sweat Oatmeal Cream Stout; the pepperoni pizza pretzel matches nicely with the Casper White Stout; the jalapeño cheddar pretzel pairs with the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout; and for dessert, there’s a cinnamon sugar pretzel with Young’s Double Chocolate Stout.

A Unique Dining Experience with Chez Moi and Read It & Eat

Chez Moi and Read It & Eat culinary bookstore are teaming up for a cool two-part event on April 28. It all begins with a class at Read It & Eat, where chef Dominique from Chez Moi will show attendees how to make two appetizers: cream of asparagus martini with caviar ice cube, and crunchy shrimp with basil and chlorophyll mayo. These are paired with a glass of sparkling rosé. At 7:30 p.m., guests will be whisked down the street to Chez Moi for a Julia Child-inspired entree of duck au peche and a dessert course. The cost for the two-part event is $70 per person and tickets can be acquired here: http://unique-dining-experience.eventbrite.com

Draft Viewing Party at Sweetwater

Football fans, take note. In honor of the NFL Draft taking place in Chicago for the second year in a row, Sweetwater Tavern and Grille is hosting a special Draft Party on April 28. The day features food and drink specials all day long, including a “Monster of the Midway” burger with two beef patties, thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon, onion strings, aged cheddar, smoked mozzarella, shredded lettuce, beefsteak tomato, and roasted jalapeño aïoli. At 7:00 p.m., the restaurant will air the Draft, with a live video DJ on hand during commercial breaks.
