Beef Up Your Brunch Plans at These Steakhouses

Steakhouses aren't just dinner destinations, ya know? In this week's batch of brunch bites, we're rounding up some of best steakhouse options for brunch in Chicago.

Rural Society

Rural Society: Brunch adopts a South American accent at Rural Society, Streeterville's Argentine steakhouse from celebrity chef Jose Garces. And it fits quite nicely. The restaurant offers both a la carte and prix fixe brunch options, the latter being a two-course meal with coffee, juice, or tea for $25. Guests get to select from numerous options like ember-roasted beets with orange-coriander vinaigrette, smoked salmon and whitefish salad, roasted red peppers with whipped eggplant, smoked ham on a sweet croissant with egg, an Argentine omelet with Serrano ham, and steak & eggs with chimichurri and spiced potatoes. Non-prix fixe options are quite expansive as well, from Argentine pizzas and chorizo sandwiches to blood sausage and various steak options, all of which can be supplemented with eggs.

Chicago Cut: Renowned for its scene-y dinner service, Chicago Cut is also one of the few steakhouses to offer weekday breakfast. It's a good way to kickstart the workday, especially when dishes like corned beef hash and prime NY strip with two poached eggs are available. Other items include beignets, citrus-smoked salmon bagels, eggs Benedict with prime filets, vanilla challah French toast, and Irish oatmeal.

Ditka's Restaurant: Eat like an NFL coach at Ditka's Restaurant, where some of the heftiest, most comforting dishes make up the steakhouse's breakfast menu. This means pot roast hash scramble, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken and waffles, and a tenderloin Benedict with grilled filet medallions, poached eggs, hollandaise, and hash browns.

Petterino's: This Loop standby may best be known for workday lunches and pre-theatre dining, but don't sleep on the weekend brunch either. The restaurant sports a bunch of uncommon brunch cocktails, along with short rib chilaquiles, corned beef skillets, lemon-ricotta pancakes with maple-vanilla custard, bacon and egg sandwiches, and crab cake eggs Benedict, among others.
