Fried Chicken Frenzy at State and Lake Chicago Tavern

Weekends are for fried chicken. And thanks to a new promo dubbed "Fried Chicken Frenzy," you can get your weekend comfort food fix at State and Lake Chicago Tavern every Saturday and Sunday. Along with live country music, the frenzy begins at 1:00 p.m., featuring buckets of fried chicken with two biscuits for $16, full chicken with 10 pieces and four biscuits for $30, and select beer growlers for $20.

Grab & Go at Presidio

The recently opened 606 Trail is the hottest park to hit Chicago in quite some time. The 2.7 mile elevated park runs along a former train track from Bucktown to Humboldt Park. Sounds amazing, right? The only downside is there are very few options for grab & go snacks and drinks along the route. Presidio is out to fix that. The Bucktown bar, located just south of the popular Damen/Churchill entry point begins offering grab & go options this weekend targeted at 606-ers. Starting August 8, these new carryout items will be available Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with selections like Red Hen Bakery pastries, breakfast sandwiches, draft coffee, bottled water, and housemade juices.

Sunday Supper at Bin 36

No better way to cap off a summer weekend than with a nice Sunday Supper. Bin 36 is the latest restaurant to hop aboard the quaint supper bandwagon, offering a different themed family-style menu each week. Every menu includes an appetizer, a shareable main dish, sides, and dessert. This weekend's offering borrows inspiration from French brasseries, with a menu of oysters, roasted entrecôte of beef with bearnaise sauce, green beans, nicoise salad, pommes chateau, vichy carrots, and vanilla crème brûlèe. The price for Sunday Supper is $22 per person.
