Meatballs may not seem like the most obvious brunch fodder, but when you think about how meatballs and brunch both play into obvious and much-needed comfort food cravings, the combo makes perfect sense. Wicker Park's new Mondo Meatball just added another weekend brunch option to the neighborhood, available Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Expect casual, meatball-y items like breakfast sausage ball mini-omelette sliders, Mondo French toast with bourbon-maple butter, and sausage balls, and breakfast sausage ball platters with scrambled eggs, polenta, and toast. Bloody Marys and mimosas will also be available. Brunch is served from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Who says brunch cravings should be confined to the mornings? Southport & Irving (SIP) just introduced late-night brunch service, adding more weekend hours and opportunities to partake in refreshing cocktails and steak & eggs. Late-night brunch runs Thursdays through Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., featuring dishes like
grilled chimichurri marinated hanger steak, Texas toast French toast with smoked salt butter and cherry compote, shrimp and crawfish cocktail, and ham, mushroom, and Korean leek ramen. To drink, get thirsty for Green Micheladas, Champagne Cocktails, Grapefruit Sparklers, Cider Punch, and Shakedowns made with gin, lavender syrup, orange-juniper extract, lemon, and Cava.
