Weekend Planner: Earth Hour Tasting Menu, Spring Truffle Party, Anniversary Special at Brasserie by LM

Earth Hour Tasting Menu by Candlelight

In honor of Earth Hour, which takes place on March 28, prasino LaGrange is going dark for dinner. By that I mean turning the lights out and serving a raw food tasting menu by candlelight. From 8:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., chef Luis Molino will curate two tasting menu options, one for $25 and another for $35. The first features a vegan ceviche, Asian-style seared tofu with corn and vegetable salad, and vegan chocolate mousse; the second features whitefish ceviche, seared rare ahi tuna with corn and vegetable salad, and vegan chocolate mousse.

Spring Truffle Making Party

Spring has sprung! Or it will soon. Beckon the new season with a spring-centric truffle-making shindig at Katherine Anne Confections on March 27. Taking place at 6:00 p.m., the truffle party features a slew of sunny dessert recipes utilizing flavors like strawberry, grapefruit, and key lime pie. Guests will get to create their own hand-rolled truffles, from the chilling process to the scooping to the rolling finale. Everyone will leave with a sampling of their truffles. The cost is $60 per person and reservations are required. Save a spot via Katherine Anne's website.

Three-year Anniversary at Brasserie by LM

Brasserie by LM blows out the candles on its third birthday this Friday, March 27. In doing so, they're inviting diners to get in on the celebration via their all-day dine-in special. For $5, guests get a Brasserie burger with fries and a Kronenbourg 1664. Regularly $12, the burger is grilled and served with cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on a pretzel bun.
