Meatball Day Specials for National Meatball Day
March 9 is National Meatball Day. But you surely already knew that because you have your priorities in check. To celebrate this saucy holiday, Davanti Enoteca is rolling out a week's worth of meatball specials. Available March 9 through March 12, the Italian sensation will be offering a variety of meatball specials featuring the restaurant's signature prosciutto-veal combination for $10. Specials include prosciutto-veal meatballs with braised greens and shaved pecorino; prosciutto-veal meatballs with toasted slider baguettes, shaved pecorino, and housemade giardiniera; spaghetti with prosciutto-veal meatballs, red chili flake, and Parmesan; and mascarpone polenta with prosciutto-veal meatballs.
Meatballs at Chop Shop
Don't go too crazy though, because you need to save room for meatballs at Wicker Park's meat wonderland, Chop Shop. This deli-cum-restaurant-cum-bar-cum-dreamscape knows a thing or two about meatballs, especially considering co-owner Mario Minelli lends the recipe from his family's 60-plus year-old kitchen archives. In honor of Meatball Bay, Chop Shop will be offering a special of Mama Minelli's meatballs and spaghetti for $10 at lunch and dinner. And don't forget that every Monday, meatball subs are $6 and epically delicious.
Death & Co Book Launch at Barrelhouse Flat
It's not all meatballs and spaghetti this week, folks. Barrelhouse Flat is hosting a pretty nifty event itself, as it prepares to serve as the official stop for the Death & Co: Modern Classic Cocktails book tour. Authors and Death & Co founders David Kaplan and Alex Day will be in attendance from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, along with Death & Co's head bartender Eryn Reece, who will take over Barrelhouse Flat's second floor lounge. Tickets for the boozy soiree are $55 per person, which includes a copy of the Death & Co book and admission to a private three-hour cocktail reception with the crew. Purchase tickets here.
Grey Goose and Dewar's at Travelle
In other cocktail news, Travelle is hosting an intoxicating shindig of its own on March 9. The Travelle Lounge's "Grey Goose & Dewar's in the Bar" event brings together ambassadors from Grey Goose and Dewar's with thirsty guests. For one evening only, they'll shake up special cocktails with unique infusions between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Said drinks include Grey Goose V/X infused with Cognac by Julien Lafound and tastings of single malts like Dewar's 12 and 18, Criagellachie 13, and Aberfeldy 12 by Gabriel Cardarella.
