Friday Night Fish Fries at Kinmont
Lenten dining and seafood go hand-in-hand. Especially on Fridays, when a lot of Lent-doers forgo meat. But meatless Fridays need not mean flavorless Fridays. Kinmont comes to the rescue with a new Friday Fish Fry series, running now through April 3. In partnership with the Shedd Aquarium, the all-sustainable seafood restaurant is curating a finger-licking Friday menu you can feel good about. The Friday menu includes fresh California rockfish served fish & chips-style with various accouterments and accents each week. 10% of proceeds from the fish fries go to the Shedd Aquarium to help support their sustainable incentives in the Midwest.
Slagel Farm Dinner
Get hungry for a special farm-to-table dinner this weekend at White Oak Tavern & Inn. One of the Midwest's premiere meat farms, Slagel Family Farm, takes the stage (and the plate) for dinner on Sunday, March 1. Chef John Asbaty will design the menu that day, based on the meats that LouisJohn Slagel brings with him that morning to the restaurant, fresh from the farm. The dinner will be served family-style, with LouisJohn on hand to discuss his farm and the ingredients. Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. and the cost is $90 per person. Wine, beer, and cocktail pairings are available for a supplemental price.
March for Kids at RPM Italian and RPM Steak
Start March the right way by giving back to a good cause. RPM Steak and RPM Italian are both participating in the March for Kids campaign all month long, donating a portion of sales from a special cocktail to the organization. The designated cocktails are the Bellini at RPM Italian and the Old Fashioned at RPM Steak. Drink up, do good.
