The 12 Days of Meatloaf

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me a partridge in a pear tree. Followed by a dozen days of meatloaf. I'll take the latter. In line with the omnipresent holiday jingle, The Meatloaf Bakery is embracing its festive side with a spree of special meatloaves available as part of its "12 Days of Meatloaf" promotion. This surefire cold-weather comfort food, adorably shaped into cupcake forms and heaped with "frostings" made with various accoutrements, is ideal Christmas fodder for holiday parties, snacks, at-home dinners, and anything else that merits cutely shaped meat. A different loaf flavor is on deck each day starting December 10 and running through December 22, as prepared by head meatloaf maven Cynthia Kallie. Put those partridges, swans, and drummers aside for a minute and count down with me:

December 10th:  The inaugural meatloaf special is a Christmas tree-shaped Mother Loaf made with beef, pork, veal, and various seasonings, topped off with Yukon potato smashers and a side of demi glace

December 11: Next up is the Herby Turkey Loaf, featuring ground turkey with spices, garlic, red pepper, herbs, and a "frosting" made from fresh wheat and white bread stuffing. It's served with a side of cranberry sauce. 

December 12: Holiday-inspired MacNificent Pasta is third, a medley of tiny pasta shells enrobed in four-cheese sauce with jalapeño and red bell peppers for heat. 

December 13: The Sister Loaf is sweetly inspired by Kallie's sister, who presumably must really love pork meatloaf flecked with currants, dry mustard glaze, and Dijon mustard garlic spuds. 

December 14: Vegetarians, take heed. There's a loaf for you as well! The Yentl Lentil Loaf contains a gluten-free mix of lentils, brown rice, veggies, and cheese. 

December 16: If you like burgers, you'll want to book it to The Meatloaf Bakery on this day for their No Buns About It Burger Loaf, made with beef, bacon, cheddar, onions, mustard, ketchup, and pickles. It's all crowned with some cheesy taters. 

December 17: The Meatloaf Bakery's Omega-3 Loaf adopts a festive ornament shape, which adds a jolly twist to the combo of wild caught Alaskan salmon, lemon, parsley, dill, and wasabi mashed potatoes. 

December 18: Beef up your holiday dining repertoire with a little Mac N' Barb Loaf on December 18. The beef-based BBQ loaf gets topped off with a hefty scoop of MacNificent Pasta.

December 19: Cheese, red wine, and Italian sausage all combine for an eclectic Loaf-A-Roma. This Italian accented treat features mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil, red wine, beef, and Italian sausage. 

December 20: Perfect fodder for holiday parties and shindigs, assorted Loafer Pops are available in-store on this day. Think meatloaf bites on a stick. Think cute. 

December 21: Spicy Latin flavors transform for the holidays in this festively shaped El Loafo Del Fuego, featuring a zesty assortment of pork, chorizo, green olives, hot peppers, almonds, garlic, and sherry. 

December 22: Round out the 12 Days of Meatloaf promo with the original Mother Loaf formed into the shape of a Christmas tree.
