Brunch Bites: Standard Market and Rockit Burger Bar

In this week's batch of brunch bites, Standard Market serves up brunch that is anything but standard and Rockit Burger Bar ups the ante on brunch comfort food.

Naperville's quintessential chef-driven specialty foods retailer is now the nexus of fine brunch fare in the suburbs. Standard Market's fast-casual restaurant, Standard Market Grill, is now serving weekend brunch from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., slinging a slew of breakfast options both sweet and savory. Options include a build-your-own omelette, brioche French toast with optional add-ons, breakfast burritos, Morning Glory pizzas strewn with Manchego and bacon, and waffles. Standard Market also offers novel dishes like The Bullseye with brioche, smoked salmon, egg, and hollandaise; and the Rise & Shine with maple breakfast sausage, egg, white cheddar, and toasted focaccia. Mimosas and Bloody Marys wall it all down quite nicely.

While Standard Market offers a nice family-friendly, wholesome option for weekend brunch, Rockit Burger Bar is bringing out some big guns for its latest assortment of gluttonous brunch options. Case in point: a waffle chicken tender sandwich that single-handedly makes ingesting chicken 'n' waffles that much easier, and that much more lethally delicious thanks to the addition of pork sausage gravy and maple syrup. Because life's too short not to get dangerous.
