Hubbard Inn and Maxwell's at the Club : Brunch Bites:

In this week's batch of brunch bites, the weekend repast returns to Maxwell's at the Club and Hubbard Inn takes a page from nightclubs for their new brunch format.

Hubbard Inn
(This is what brunch looks like at Hubbard Inn sometimes)

Just in time for holiday hosting, parties, and familial gatherings, Maxwell's at the Club brings back its storied buffet brunch. But not just any brunch buffet, the version at this East Bank Club staple is brimming with elevated renditions of weekend favorites, offering something for every discerning appetite and craving. The Sunday affair runs from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., costing a mere $24 for adults, $12 for children ages seven to 10, $6 for children four to six, and free for kids under three. The buffet offerings include a lengthy omelet bar, eggs Benedict, French toast, sausages, applewood-smoked bacon, potatoes, pastries, chilled shrimp, toasted bagels, waffles, sour cream pancakes, and more.

While Maxwell's skews family-friendly and crowd-pleasing, Hubbard Inn draws inspiration from more debaucherous settings for its new brunch incentive. The barstaurant's Key Club is debuting its Saturday boozy brunch, turning the typical weekend template into an elaborate and fun soiree of sorts for mature diners and drinkers. Beginning at 1:00 p.m., brunch starts with complimentary mimosas, followed by brunch offerings like lobster omelettes, breakfast monte cristos, and more. At 3:00 p.m., though, the vibe takes a turn towards the scintillating. In comes VIP bottle service, strobe lights, confetti, DJ sets, and brunch spreads featuring king crab legs, lobster cups, muffins, and more. It all ends at 6:00 p.m., at which point guests need to get their acts together and get on with their day/evening. This monthly affairs takes place on designated Saturdays, with the next one being October 25 with a Halloween theme. For reservations, email keyclub@hubbardinn.com.
