Weekday Planner: Yusho Pop-up, L2O Honors Jeremiah Tower, Tap Takeover at Scofflaw, Tango Dinners

Yusho Pop-up

Hyde Park is about to get its own location of Avondale's popular Yusho, and in preparation for the debut, the Japanese restaurant is taking over and popping up at sister restaurant A10 on September 8. From 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., A10 will transform into a mini Yusho, serving up dishes to be featured on the forthcoming menu. Expect noodles, buns, and other small plates, plus draft cocktails. Call 773-288-1010 for reservations.

L2O Honors Jeremiah Tower

Famed chef Jeremiah Tower is poised to inspire a special collaborative dinner at L2O on September 8 as part of Imbibe & Inspire's Roots of American Food Conference taking place in Chicago. Featuring the handiwork of renowned chefs such as Michael Laiskonis, Dominique Crenn, Kyle Connaughton, Erik Anderson, Bruce Sherman, and L2O's own Matthew Kirkley, the dinner serves as an homage to the life of one of the world's foremost chefs. With wine pairings, the multi-course tasting menus costs $300 per person, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the staff of California's Manresa restaurant, which recently suffered a fire. Seatings are available between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Call 773-868-0002 or email l2oreservations@leye.com for reservations.

Scofflaw
(Clam chowder a la Scofflaw)

Allagash Tap Takeover at Scofflaw

On September 9, Scofflaw turns over its five tap handles to Allagash Brewing Company from 5:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. The beers include Allagash White, Black, Saison, Curieux, and Neddles. In addition, a few food specials serve as an ode to the East Coast shores, including clam chowder, oysters, and lobster rolls.

Tango Dinners

Here's an offbeat way to enjoy your dinner with a side of fun: Artango Bistro is offering tango dinner specials every Tuesday and Wednesday for the duration of September. In addition to their regular South American menu, the restaurant is offering a special three-course $25 prix fixe, made all the more enticing by the fact that Artango is BYOB. Plus, from 7:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesdays and from 8:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, guests may participate in Argentine tango group dance lessons to boot. No better way to boogy up an appetite.
