New Restaurants Hop on Delivery Bandwagon

It just became a whole lot easier to fill your mouth with chef-driven chicken sandwiches and pizzas from the comfort of your own couch. Leghorn and Balena have both recently hopped aboard the delivery service bandwagon, bringing artisanal fried chicken and Italian food to the masses.

Leghorn
(Leghorn, now available for delivery)

Leghorn's fried chicken sandwiches can be a tad tricky to finagle for guests who don't live in the immediate vicinity. The Ukrainian Village eatery is in an area notoriously bereft of CTA stations, so unless you have a car and you're willing to hoof it for chicken, it's hard to come by. Until now. The casual chicken restaurant is now offering delivery for the surrounding neighborhoods, serving up chicken fresh out of the fryer and into your pajama-clad face. Available all day after opening at 11:00 a.m., delivery is available from Humboldt and Grand to the west, Fullerton to the north, Madison to the south, and Halsted and Elston to the east. The order minimum is $15 and there's a $4 delivery fee. Order up!

Next up on the delivery docket is Balena. The haute Italian restaurant in Lincoln Park has long had delivery plans in the offing, and it finally comes to fruition on August 4. Henceforth, the restaurant will be bringing pizzas, pastas, salads, and more right to your door. Delivery is accessible via GrubHub during dinner hours, servicing a delivery area within a two-mile radius on all sides. Considering Balena's impressive gamut of chef-driven, crafty pizzas, pastas, seasonal salads, and desserts, this is about to become your new at-home crutch. And as an added bonus: wine is also available for delivery!
