Weekend Planner: Coffee Klatch and Cookbooks, Rose on the Roof, and The NOSH

Coffee Klatch and Cookbooks at Spertus Institute

On June 22, "Breakfast Queen" Ina Pinkney and chef Laura Frankel team up for a day of food and frivolity at the Spertus Institute. "Coffee Klatch and Cookbooks" takes place from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., featuring the duo discussing cookery from their respective new cookbooks, as well as preparing dishes from their books. The event is free to attend.

(The NOSH. End your week here.)

Rose on the Roof

Boozing and schmoozing is so much better when there's a reputable cause involved. Such as the Swedish Covenant Hospital Breast Cancer Survivor Program. On June 22, Fountainhead will play host to Rose on the Roof, a wine tasting event on their roof deck designed to earn funds for the program. Showcasing the apt summer sipper, rose wine, the three-hour event runs from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The cost to attend is $30 per person and tickets can be purchased here

The NOSH Arrives at Two North Riverside Plaza

The NOSH has taken up residence twice a week at Two North Riverside Plaza for the summer, running every Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The popular food market features about a dozen local food vendors slinging their distinct wares, from lobster rolls to cupcakes. The roster changes regularly, but expect to see the likes of Pecking OrderDia De Los TamalesRickshaw Republic, and New England Seafood Company. There will also be a live DJ serving up soulful jams, a nice little addiiton to the end-of-the-week lunch rush.
