Bread on Tour

Bread on Tour:

Now here's a tour I would like to be a roadie for. Nationally revered La Brea Bakery, originated by Nancy Silverton in Los Angeles, has risen to become one of the country's standout destinations for artisan breads and baked goods. Entering its 25th year in business in 2014, an impressive feat for any institution, the bakery is embarking on a nationwide bread tour beginning May 29 in Chicago.

The five-city tour entails stops all over each city, wherein brand ambassadors will mosey around town doling out fresh-baked bread and spreading the La Brea word. Passersby will have the chance to earn prizes by posting photos on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #BreakingBread.

The Chicago leg begins May 29 and runs through June 1, with another spree taking place June 4 through June 7. Follow @labreabakery on Twitter for location updates, but the bakery has already mapped out a few stops, starting at Mariano Park on May 29 at 8:30 a.m. Next is the Damen Blue Line on May 30 at 8:30 a.m., followed by Wacker and State in the Loop on June 4, and Clark and Eddy in Wrigleyville on June 6 at 6:15 p.m.
