Weekend Planner: Greek Music at Taxim, Revolution Beer Dinner, Lent-friendly Tasting Menu, and Weekend Lunch

Greek Music at Taxim

The only thing that could make a Grecian meal at Taxim any tastier is an earful of live music. This Saturday, Wicker Park's bastion of refined Greek cuisine features the rhythmic stylings of Rhythmos, performing live between 10:30 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., aka much later than the restaurant is typically open. To celebrate, the kitchen will feature late-night specials from the wood-burning grill, plus Lenten delicacies. The cover to attend is $10.

Revolution Beer Dinner at 2 Sparrows

One of Lincoln Park's premier brunch spots, 2 Sparrows, is gearing up for a tasty revolt this Friday, March 21, in the form of a Revolution Brewery beer dinner. The four-course shindig features an array of seasonal plates adjoined by craft brews from the Logan Square brewery. The first course is veal sweetbreads with cauliflower, white beans, and whole-grain mustard, followed by bay scallops with sweet pea pasta and cream. Next is smoked lamb with smashed fried potatoes, blue cheese, and herbs, with eclairs for dessert. Dinner starts at 7:00 p.m. and costs $55 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 773-234-2320.

Acadia
(Acadia)

Lent-friendly Tasting Menu at Acadia

With eight courses of fine nautical fare at Acadia, you won't feel like you're sacrificing anything this Lenten season. Except maybe $125 per person, but whatever. For the next several weeks, the South Loop restaurant is offering an eight-course degustation at the bar and in the dining room. True to form, the seafood-focused onslaught includes hiramasa, razor clams, crab-strewn ravioli, scallops, oysters, and black cod. The caveat is that this menu is only available on the weekends, so go eat this immediately. Additionally, Acadia is offering fried oyster po' boys on Fridays in the bar area, outfitted with spicy lobster caper remoulade and romaine on ciabatta with a side of Geary's Pale Ale, all for a scant $15.

Weekend Lunch at 312 Chicago

Come weekends, brunch hogs all the glory from the other meal periods. Who says lunch should be resigned to weekday business affairs? Not 312 Chicago! The restaurant is now offering a weekend lunch menu available on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Food options include housemade tortellini and caprese paninis, along with new cocktails like the Sicilian Sunrise and Italian Bloody Marys.
