Show man's bff how much you appreciate them by drinking beer. Sounds about right. Saturday, February 15, Twisted Spoke raises a pint glass to dogs with a Wicker Park Dog Park fundraiser. Hosted in conjunction with Goose Island, the event features a donated keg of Goose and a silent auction with all proceeds going towards the Wicker Park Dog Park. The event runs from 7:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. and is free to attend. Woof.
Sunday Supper at Azzurra
Sunday evenings and family-style suppers go together like winter and hatred. A new contender for your Sunday supper appetites is Azzurra, Wicker Park's new-ish authentic Italian eatery from the folks who brought you Anteprima and Ombra. Each Sunday evening finds guests digging into a four-course feast of regional Italian fare, starting with a Tuscan-themed menu for the rest of February. The menu includes assorted antipasti, choice of housemade cavatelli or housemade orecchiette, choice of polpettone or polenta-crusted whitefish, and select desserts. Reservations can be made by calling 773-278-5959 and the cost is just $23 for adults, $12 for children eight to 12, and free for those under seven.
Garlic Dinner at Delish Diner
Speaking of Sunday supper, here's one that will have leave you desperate for Altoids. Delish Diner is set to serve up a five-course garlic-themed degustation on February 16, featuring guest chef Alan Lake, three-time winner of the Delray Beach Garlic Festival's Professional Chef Competition because that's a thing. And he's also the author of The Garlic Manifesto. This guy isn't messing around. He'll be joined by comrade chef Michael Karman, and the five-courser will feature a spree of wintry, potent, garlicky creations. The cost is $70 per person and reservations can be made here.
