Open That Bottle Tonight

Stop saving that bottle for a special occassion! Every year since 2000, on a very special Saturday night in February, friends, couples and groups get together to enjoy particular bottles of wine and champagne. The bottle selected to enjoy is traditionally one that you have been saving for a special event that - so far - has never quite happened. "Open That Bottle Night" was created by Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher of the Wall Street Journal as a great way to feel entitled to uncork that cherished bottle and enjoy the contents. It doesn't matter if the wine is expensive or reasonable, red, white or bubbly -what matters are the memories. Everyone has a special bottle of wine or champagne hidden away, and the date of the next "Open That Bottle Night" is Saturday, February 28: open those bottles and enjoy the contents as they were meant to be enjoyed. A dozen Chicago restaurants and lounges invite you to bring in a bottle with no corkage fee. Don't have a special bottle? Most participants will offer discounts on wines by the bottle so you may purchase your own special bottle, see below Celebrate twenty years of Italian cuisine with half-price bottles of wine.

Neighborhood night. Guests with 60657 zip codes (and their friends from all neighborhoods) will receive 20% discount on the entire tab in honor of two decades of dining.
