Open as late as 5 a.m., Redhot Ranch keeps its menu simple, offering hot dogs, polish sausage, freshly made fries and fried shrimp. And that's it. A hot dog with fries is a steal at $3; get it to go or grab a seat at one of the picnic tables outside.

The 20th location of the Francesca's family of restaurants is located in the Gold Coast's Seneca Hotel. The menu is consistent with the other locations, dominated by pastas, pizzas and Italian-style entrees. The restaurant serves brunch on weekends and also offers carry out and catering.

The first of a handful of planned North Side locations, Gyood! serves lactose-free, cholesterol-free soft serve in cones, shakes, on brownies and topped with your favorite candy. There is even soft serve for your dog. Pronounced "good," the spelling references how that word sounds with a mouth full of ice cream. Flavors are primarily vanilla and chocolate with some seasonal offerings.

The musically inclined couple behind the Chicago-based Blujazz record label bring you Club Blujazz, which offers live jazz seven nights a week. Performers include regional and international acts, as well as the owners themselves. Food is on the light side, with flatbread pizzas, cheese plates and desserts available. Tickets range from $10 to $30.

Named after the burger-loving J. Wellington Wimpy of Popeye fame, this quick-service burger joint is BYOB and open late. The menu includes eight signature sandwiches, including burgers, a meatloaf sandwich and a fish sandwich, and the build-your-own J. Wellington burger with your choice of signature sauces.

Leo's Coney Island is betting on a resounding "yes" to both of these questions, opening its first location outside of Michigan and getting a new set of Midwesterns hooked on its famous Coney Island dogs (with chili, mustard and onions) and Greek salad. Catering to the neighborhood, the takeout window is open until 2 a.m. on weekends.
